The Pub

Known as a family steakhouse, the Pub has been a landmark in NJ for over 50 years. They are located at 7600 Kaighn Hwy in Pennsauken....at the intersection of route 70 and 130....formally known as the airport circle. Our visit today was for lunch and quite surprising, at noon, it was virtually empty....so for sure it was a quiet lunch. Lunch or dinner, they are also famous for their salad bar buffet...while that was tempting, I chose the tuna melt platter (with french fries and cole slaw) for $$8.25.
My dining partner had the Pub Special Hamburger for $8.95. All the food was good, but nothing to write home about.....especially as we felt kind of lonely in such a big establishment. Dinner meals are more exciting for sure...especially with the open hearth fires, and usually you end up taking food home. I can not help but remembering a visit there for lunch many years ago with another friend; when we returned to his car it had been stolen. Eventually the car was recovered, but needless to say, today I was sure to use my club.
